Tuesday 26th Aug
It is always disappointing when a large community orientated event fails in its mission, and it was with great sadness that we learnt today that the much anticipated 2nd Beachdown festival has been cancelled. After a bit of cofusion and a few rumours , the directors confirmed today that the worse possibe news is true.
The following is the statement issued on their own websiteDear All
It is with immense personal regret that the Directors of Beachdown
Festival have been advised that they must announce that due to slower
than forecast ticket-sales and lack of support at a critical time from
our bank and certain suppliers that despite being so so close to being
able to deliver Beachdown Festival we are unable to do so. Very simply
we were unable to meet the demands that the current economic climate
put against us and at the eleventh hour despite having most of the
infrastructure in place we have been forced to cancel the event.

The burning of paraffin wax releases toxic and carcinogenic fumes, such as toluene and benzene, and is not recommended as an everyday indulgence. |

On Sunday June 7th you can join thousands of other wildlife enthusiasts at Stanmer Park Brighton, at the Springwatch Festival 2009. Last year young and old alike enjoyed a fabulous day taking part and finding out about ways to get more engaged with the natural world, including
